Crown of Snakes
"It's gone!" cried the king. "Someone has stolen the Crown of Snakes."
"What?" asked the queen with agony in her voice.
"That crown is far too dangerous for anyone to have. To be able to control all the snakes in the world could spell trouble if it is in the wrong hands," the king lamented.
"What shall we do?" asked the queen.
"Sir," interjected Lord Billingsly, the king's trusted confidant, "there is only one man who can possibly find the Crown of Snakes."
"No!" yelled the king. "I refuse to let that reprobate back into my kingdom. He will never come near my family again!"
Years ago, the daughter of King Midon, Princess Modita, befriended an adventurous young man named Chuck. He was a devilishly handsome young man who liked to take risks; he bungee jumped, sky dived, climbed cliffs without a harness. Chuck was a man-of-fortune who held no job, but hired himself out to solve problems. The problem came when Chuck took Princess Modita to a foreign land, scaled a dangerous mountain side, and lived off the land for a month. Princess Modita loved her adventure, but the king was furious that Chuck had put his daughter in peril. When King Midon's daughter returned, he forbade her to ever see Chuck again, and he banished Chuck to never return to his kingdom.
"But sir," Billingsly protested, "there is no one else. We must find the crown."
1. You know Lord Billingsly is right, but you cannot do it. You refuse to hire Chuck for the job.
2. You know Lord Billingsly is right, and you command him to summon Chuck at once.
3. You choose to ignore Lord Billingsly altogether.
